Stevie Ray Vaughan Lesson ( Hybrid picking)
Featured
Here is a mini video guitar lesson I made on hybrid style picking on guitar used by many players over the years but in this case, the legendary Texas blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan . This style employed the use of pick and fingers together and playing multiple strings at the same time or alternately. ..the example I’m playing here is what I call the “quintessential lick” that Stevie used countless times live or in studio recordings..enjoy.
Wedding demo
Quote
Per my good friend and wedding photographer David Schwartz , I have put together some demos for the wedding business. Dave is probably the most gifted and passionate photographer I’ve ever met in my life and lover of music as well. These demos are intended as a representation of some of my work, but deffinatly not all. I hate to limit myself musically to anything and be open to everything. The bottom line is when it comes to weddings , I will learn any song for any potential client and preform it as close as i can to the orginal unless designated otherwise, The client needs always come first.

Cactus Jacks on 28th street Virginia Beach
Featured
Played a great gig from 6-9pm at Cactus Jacks on Atlantic Avenue 28th street , Virginia Beach. The food was really good and the staff could not have been any nicer. In addition to good food they feature a descent line of top shelf liquors notably Tequilas’ including Avion , a west coast brand making its way here. Although I didn’t sample any due to the fact I don’t consume adult beverages when I’m at my job, playing music, I fully intend on going back on a night off when a have a moment.
Jacks was hip and Shiek, I plan on playing there more often so chek my calendar here online.

I always love having a chance to place private functions for any occasion and last week was no exception. Here is a shot form the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club that was taken by local photographer, Sean Holder, The NYCC is full of local History , my father actually use to play tennis there back in the 1950s, its pretty cool being part of the history as well. Thank you to my dear friend Amy Franklin Harrington for putting it all together.
Little Wing…Stevie Ray Vaughan

Once again, this song literally changed my life. The first time I heard it on the radio I about drove off the road and cried. It was like a huge wake up call to SRVs legacy , passion and love for music, the blues and beyond. This one song , epitomized him , day after day, night after night, giving 110% to the song and played with feeling. Twenty five years after his death his sprit still lives, this one for all the fans. Long live Stevie.
